onsmart is a very bad rip-off. They just disapeared with no way to contact them. I had over 1600 images just lost because they closed down their server without so much as a notice they were pulling that stunt.

Started out good, but in the past month have been absolutely unreliable. They shut my site down twice stating that my site is sending out spam. My site is static and no modifications were done. It doesn't send email out at all. This suggests to me that they had a security breach on their servers, and a worm or virus compromised various websites. In any event, I had to disable the email feature (which I didn't use anyway) to get them to reinstate my site. Very rude service. My site and their support has been down now for a week with no response to my e-mails and no way to contact them. Unbelievable. This is the second time I have been burnt by value-drive fly-by-nighters.
Yesterday I changed my DNS to point to another host (the original domain company). I pay more, but can sleep at night knowing my site is operational. My advice? ay a few bucks more a month and host with an established company.

I was with Onsmart for over 5 years (2003 to present) During the last two months (Jan - Feb 2008) my sites have been down two different times, once for a week and this time for three days, a weekend. I have tried repeatedly to contact them and they do not have a phone number listed. Their online "Live Chat" is not working and they do not answer the messages.
I am moving my accounts to another hosting account.

I have the Linux hosting plan
This company is going down hill fast. They used to be great... I have set-up 3 accounts with them and a friend who uses them all the time is also becoming concerned. Something is really messed up a large percentage of emails sent to me from various addresses are now rejected by their server and I am receiving phone calls from numerous people saying they can no longer email me. Onsmart refuses to address the issues and has been extremely rude and unhelpful. The error messages clearly say they are rejected by them.. go figure?????
I switched hosts (did not have a choice) and I am now receiving flawless performance. Peter one of the Reps closed a chat window on me after replying with a rude comment and Sandy then came on with no greeting and took forever between replies. Personally I have done nothing wrong but unfortunately they do not feel that way. You get the feeling they sit around complaining about you when you have a problem. Here is the chat log right after being "hung up" on by Peter. Save yourself the hassle they are the most unreliable host I have ever dealt with and have the worst customer service.

myname: Thanks I realize that. I can send emails to myself aswell. But am not sure why all of a sudden people who regularly email me get these error messages along with new people. I know it is easy to blame them which I would love it if it was the case.

myname: I know but honestly if you had an email address you have been using for almost a year and then 5+ of people you know say "hey I can no longer send you emails..." wouldn't you be concerned? I'm not trying to be difficult I really don't think this is their problem but just don't know what to do...
